FED Trustee: Fiona Forbes is the CEO and founder of ConfigurED – an education transformation consultancy eco-system with a specific focus on school leadership.
Fiona has 30 years of experience and expertise in the leadership of schools from the early childhood, primary, secondary, tertiary and special education sectors. Fiona is Professor of Practice in the School of Education at La Trobe University Victoria, Australia, Board Chair of the Australian Special Education Principals’ Association (ASEPA), Board Member of the Foundation for Education Development UK (FED) and a foundation member and participant of Atlantic Rim Collaboratory (ARC) that supports education system development since 2015.
Fiona has a commitment to global education strengthened by her 6 years on the executive of the International Confederation of Principals (ICP). She held the four-year position of President Elect, President and Past President 2016-19 and was awarded life membership in 2019 for her services to global school leadership and education. Fiona was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) in 2016 for services to special education.
