Lucy Spencer is the Founder of Education Boutique, a specialist alternative provision and tutoring organisation working with schools and local authorities across England to support learners who cannot currently access mainstream education.
A former teacher, Lucy established Education Boutique to address a growing gap in the system for children with complex needs, including SEND, EBSA, medical needs and school-based trauma. Her team designs bespoke education packages that rebuild engagement, restore belonging and support reintegration into education, specialist settings or employment.
Lucy’s work provides a unique vantage point across the education system: connecting policy, funding frameworks and frontline delivery. Each year, Education Boutique works with hundreds of learners through Section 19 provision and local authority referrals, giving her insight into how national reforms are experienced by schools, families and local systems.
She is passionate about long-term strategic thinking in education and believes that meaningful reform must be co-constructed with the profession, grounded in evidence and informed by the lived experience of learners and families.
