Michelle Bernard is the Executive Headteacher Compass Partnership of Schools and has worked in education for almost 30 years in both mainstream and special schools across Greenwich and Lewisham. She was one of the founding leaders of the Compass Partnership of schools a trust that grew out of school to school support, brokered as a local authority school improvement strategy.
As a headteacher Michelle led two schools from category to good in less than two years. In her current role as Interim Director of School Effectiveness, she provides strategic direction and executive leadership directly to school. Michelle has oversight of the strategic direction for Inclusion and social justice across the trust.
Michelle is passionate about ensuring all children have equal access to the best educational experiences. She understands the importance of building strong relationships between children, families and school. Michelle is a qualified Executive coach and this underpins her work with schools.
