FED Ambassador: Jacqui Latham is a highly experienced senior leader in inclusion, SEND and safeguarding, with nearly 30 years of experience in education. She is recognised for her strategic leadership, commitment to equity and passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
Throughout her career, Jacqui has worked in some of the country’s most disadvantaged communities, driven by a commitment to ensuring that every child has access to high-quality education and the opportunity to thrive.
Currently serving as Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and SENDCo at The Forwards Centre, Jacqui leads the strategic development of inclusive practice, SEND provision and curriculum innovation. Her leadership experience spans whole-school operational leadership, safeguarding, staff development and coaching, with a strong focus on building inclusive cultures where both pupils and colleagues can succeed.
Alongside her school leadership role, Jacqui volunteers weekly with Perfection Special Abilities Cheerleading as Safeguarding and Parent Liaison, supporting neurodivergent athletes and their families throughout training and competition. She also served as Safeguarding and Parent Liaison for the Team England Special Abilities Pom – England National Team Staff, working alongside athletes, families and coaches to help create safe, inclusive and supportive environments as the team prepares for international competition. These roles hold particular significance as Jacqui’s neurodivergent daughter is a member of the programme. Supporting athletes from weekly training through to representing England on the world stage has further strengthened her commitment to inclusion, advocacy and creating opportunities for young people to flourish both within and beyond education.
Jacqui is also actively involved in educational research, governance and system leadership, contributing to national discussions on the future of education.
Her leadership philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child deserves a safe, ambitious and inclusive environment in which they can flourish, develop confidence and aspire to their futures. She is passionate about empowering others, championing inclusive practice and creating lasting, positive change for children, families and the professionals who support them.
