Alastair-Stewart

Alastair Stewart OBE

Alastair Stewartis a presenter on GB News and will host a news and current affairs programme on Saturdays and Sundays. Before that, he presented a range of news and current affairs programmes on the ITV network and was one of the longest serving newscaster-journalists on British television.

Over many years, he has also presented special programmes on the ITV network from State Occasions and Royal Weddings to Budgets and General Elections. In 2010, he moderated the first ever live TV debate between the Party Leaders. Alastair has also moderated debates on Channel 5 TV on the subjects of Brexit and Knife Crime. In addition to his news work, Alastair also presented “POLICE, CAMERA, ACTION!” and “UNBELIEVABLE MOMENTS – CAUGHT ON CAMERA”. Alastair also presents regularly for “Talk Radio” and writes occasionally for the Spectator magazine.

In the charity world and voluntary sector, he is an active supporter of RIDING FOR THE DISABLED, THE BROOKE, THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION, ACTION FOR CHILDREN, HOMESTART, LORD MAYOR TRELOAR COLLEGE for disabled students, the NAOMI HOUSE/JACK'S PLACE hospice, the mental health charity SANE, the CRIMESTOPPERS TRUST, the BRAIN TUMOUR CHARITY and CARE INTERNATIONAL.

Alastair holds Honorary degrees from the Universities of Bristol, Plymouth, Winchester and Sunderland. In 2006, he was awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his work in broadcasting and for charity.
