FED Ambassador: Dr Scott Caizley is the Lead Policy Officer for Education at the City of London Corporation. Alongside his role at the City, Scott is an experienced researcher and educator, having taught undergraduate and postgraduate students at King’s College London on topics including policy, politics, family, children, and the state. He has also contributed to several high-profile research inquiries. Scott’s work on inequalities in arts education has been nationally acclaimed and internationally recognised. In 2023, he co-authored a landmark report with leading academics for the House of Lords APPG for Creative Diversity, examining barriers in the talent pipeline to the cultural and creative industries.
His policy focus includes: home-school relationships, SEND, arts education, skills development, social mobility and school performance. Beyond his policy and research work, Scott is a trained classical musician and has undertaken extensive sociological research into inequalities within music education, focusing on access, participation, and progression in the UK’s classical music sector for state schooled students.
