FED Council Member: Gavin Anderson is Managing Director Europe, Middle East, Africa for Cognition Education, part of the New Zealand-headquartered Cognition Education Group. Gavin oversees Cognition’s portfolio of education services, working with the UK and other governments, education institutions, and corporate clients. Cognition focus particularly on curriculum development, teacher recruitment and professional development, and school leadership, bringing their global experience to bear on successful project delivery in more than 30 countries around the world.
Prior to joining Cognition, Gavin worked for more than twenty years at the British Council, leading their international education work in countries as varied as UAE, Malaysia, China, Korea, Oman, and Japan. His experience covers bespoke education consultancy, design & implementation of major education reform projects, international & trans-national education marketing, and English language training, testing, & assessment. He brings an avowedly international perspective to his work, and is looking forward to contributing that international dimension to the discussions and ongoing work of FED.
