FED Council Member: Joysy John is the CEO of 01 Founders, tuition-free coding centres with a job-guarantee to improve diversity in tech. She is also an entrepreneur, Edtech advisor and global speaker. She is the former Director of Education at Nesta, an innovation foundation in the UK, where she was responsible for practical programmes, research and investments that better prepare learners to thrive in the future She was appointed by the Department of Education to the Edtech Leadership Group and by the Welsh Government to the expert panel on Schooling Reimagined in 2019.
Previously she was the Chief Industry Officer at Ada National College for Digital Skills. She left her banking career in 2012 to change education after spending a decade working across Singapore, US and UK.
She holds a Computer Engineering (Honours) degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and an MBA with Distinction from London Business School. She was nominated to the Financial Times top 100 BAME leaders influencing tech in 2019 and Finalist for Woman of the Year at the 16th Asian Achievers Award in 2016.
