FED Trustee: Nick is an education lawyer and partner at Browne Jacobson LLP, one of the UK’s pre-eminent education law practices. He is also a member of the firm’s Board.
He has significant experience of advising boards in the social housing, corporate and, now for over 10 years, education sectors across a wide range of issues. Nick is independently ranked as a leading lawyer for education nationally and is a regular speaker at education conferences. He has also written extensively for sector publications on governance, structures, collaboration and the broader sector landscape.
Over the last 10 years Nick has contributed regularly to the debate on key issues impacting the sector. In 2012 he led the Browne Jacobson team that commissioned Ipsos Mori to undertake a survey on the use of academy freedoms by the early academy convertors and has subsequently led on a number of projects including exploring a ten year vision for accountability, regulation and leadership in the school system and more recently in early 2019 publishing “Beyond system design – addressing the operational leadership challenges”.
Nick has also been a trustee of a number of education charities and has previously supported Teach First, acting as a coach for its coaching programme for Year 2 participants.
