Tarquin Wethered is an investor in private companies with a growing specialism in Education, Services and Technology companies. He is a Director at THI Investments, a pan European investor in private companies with >€2bn AUM, as well as a board member of Impact Food Group, the UK’s highest quality and service focussed catering business focussed on schools, Oxford International, a globally leading international education platform, and Corndel, a leading management and digital skills training business.
Tarquin has worked in private equity since 2013, having first started in investment banking in London. He joined THI in 2020 as a Director in the Private Equity investment team, where he sources, executes and manages private equity investments.
Previously, he was an Investment Director and part of the founding team of EMK Capital, the mid-market private equity fund set up in 2015 that spun out of Bregal Investments. Prior to that, he worked in the private equity team at Caledonia Investments, the listed FTSE250 investment trust. He has invested in private companies across sectors with a particular focus on the Education, Business Services, Technology, Leisure and Financial Services sectors. He has also completed investments in the Healthcare and Leisure sectors. This has primarily been in the UK but also in the rest of Europe.
Tarquin started his career at Hawkpoint in the Financial Institutions Group M&A team in London. He studied Economics and Management at Balliol College, Oxford. Tarquin enjoys winter sports, kickboxing and cycling.
