We are delighted to introduce the co-chairs of the FED National Education Leaders Council between 2024-2025. Our stakeholder councils play a pivotal role in our thinking as we develop the systems and strategies that support a long-term vision and plan for education.
Narinder Gill
Narinder is School Improvement Director for Elevate Multi-Academy Trust, a primary Trust in North Yorkshire.
She has worked in education for more than 20 years, successfully leading three schools as a headteacher. Her last school was the subject of her recent publication ‘Creating Change in Urban Settings’ which charts the journey and impact of curriculum and leadership development during challenging times. Narinder is a Strategic Director for the Curriculum Foundation and has been working on the development of the Curriculum in South Sudan. As an accredited executive business coach, Narinder has worked with schools, Trusts, the NHS and the private sector.
Dr Andy Hodgkinson
Andy is a Programme Leader in UCL’s Centre for Educational Leadership. He leads on the programme design and content development of the Centre’s suite of National Professional Qualification Leadership Programmes; teaches on a number of the Centre’s post-graduate courses and undertakes research in educational leadership. Prior to this he was the Simon Industrial Follow at the University Manchester where his research focused on system leadership and curriculum design.
Before working in higher education Andy was an executive leader within the education sector with a proven track record of outstanding leadership in both public and private sector contexts, including executive headship and local authority roles. He is an experienced advisor on system transformation combining national and international policy to drive system wide improvements at school, local, regional and national levels improving outcomes for pupils at a micro level and improved system delivery pathways at a macro level.
