Gateshead College has been around since the 1940s and, from then to today, they’ve been helping people get the skills and qualifications they need to get on in work.
As a further education college with a broad and diverse range of education and training programmes, they develop skilled confident learners who succeed in work and life, something they call the employment edge.
This means industry inspired education that combines high quality learning with real world skills helping all learners, whatever their age, background or starting point, develop the confidence and personal and professional skills to be successful.
For school leavers the college offers A Levels, T Levels and vocational courses in a range of practical subjects such as engineering, construction, digital technologies, business and sport. For adults they run accredited skill update courses and higher level courses such as HNCs and HNDs as well as specific training for those unemployed who want to get back into work.
Working in partnership with employers, both locally and nationally, they offer staff development training and apprenticeships, all designed to help businesses to be stronger and more effective.
The college has four campuses across Gateshead; Baltic Campus on Gateshead Quays, Academy for Sport at Gateshead International Stadium and Skills Academy for Automotive, Engineering, Manufacturing and Logistics and Skills Academy for Construction both on Team Valley.
