High Storrs has a long and rich history, and we are known for our broad curriculum and excellent outcomes. We believe that we are a community that focuses on the right things and that the foundation of High Storrs is to regularly express who we are, rather than produce long lists of what students should not do.
In September 2018, we embarked on a consultation of staff, students, parents, carers and governors about our values and what we stand for. 348 people engaged with the survey and as a result, we developed our values statement. This embodies what we are here to do.
Our values statement states that ‘We are High Storrs. We are here to learn, succeed and thrive. We are respectful, safe and responsible.’
We are proud of our broad and rich curriculum and we focus on those things that make a difference to learning and helps students to succeed. We encourage our students and staff to go beyond life in the classroom to ensure they thrive through our extensive extra-curricular offer and continuing personal and professional development. We help children build learning skills for life through our Attitude to Learning (A2L) criteria, meaning that they leave with skills that will help them continue learning beyond life here, as well as the best set of outcomes possible. We encourage students to express themselves in a respectful way, we work hard to make our community a safe and happy place to be. Finally, we promote responsibility towards ourselves and others.
