The READ Foundation is a non-profit organisation committed to providing high-quality education to vulnerable children in impoverished communities globally. We operate in the UK and other countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Turkey, and Yemen. All our projects are designed to ensure the educational empowerment of marginalised communities is central to the design. We build and open schools, providing education to the world’s most vulnerable, establish mobile classrooms in refugee camps and conflict zones, offer one-to-one sponsorships for orphaned children, and provide shelters for homeless children in impoverished communities. Currently, we operate 400 schools, employ 6,000 teachers, educate 120,000 students (including 13,000 orphans), and have an alumni community of 150,000.
