Student Financial Wellbeing
Financial Wellbeing Core Knowledge and Competencies Report & Framework
Financial education will become part of the English primary curriculum from 2028, creating an opportunity to ensure all pupils receive consistent, high quality learning that supports financial confidence and wellbeing.
Current provision is uneven, and evidence shows that gaps in financial literacy contribute to economic disadvantage, reduced resilience and increased exposure to financial risk.
The Financial Wellbeing Core Knowledge and Competencies Framework offers a coherent, developmental model that brings together economic, digital and ethical learning from early years through to Key Stage 4.
It provides a practical route for schools to strengthen curriculum planning now, supporting wider aims in personal development, safeguarding and citizenship.
