Over the past five years, the Foundation for Education Development (FED) has been privileged to facilitate what we believe to be one of the most extensive qualitative consultations on education ever conducted in England. We have been honoured to listen to and amplify the voices of those with lived experience across the sector-education leaders and practitioners, learners, parents and carers, employers, and broader societal figures. FED has aimed to provide an independent forum where diverse stakeholders can come together to collaboratively shape the future of education through thoughtful, long-term planning.
We are proud to share with you our response to the Department for Education’s Curriculum & Assessment Review due on Friday 22nd November (please see the DfE guidance here). This response – attached along with a shorter summary – synthesises these five years of consultations. The FED’s comprehensive submission offers practical, forward-thinking solutions to systemic challenges. By grounding our recommendations in robust evidence and lived experiences, we aim to drive transformative, sustainable change that supports the prosperity of individuals and society at large.
