Looking Back – Moving Forward

looking-back Update

Monday 14th September 1000 AM – 1200  noon.

The FED is promoting celebrations to mark the
150th Anniversary of state education.

On 14th September 2020 the FED will launch the year of celebration with an online broadcast in collaboration with Browne Jacobson and NCFE. The Secretary of State for Education Rt Hon Gavin Williamson will speak at the launch event, joined by Baroness Nicky Morgan, Dame Julia Cleverdon, the recently appointed President of the CBI Lord Karan Bilimoria and Sir Michael Barber, all talking about the history of State Education in the UK.

We are grateful to Sir Michael Barber who has researched the history of state education and will be delivering a presentation on ‘Ten characters who have created an education system’. We will be sharing a written version of this presentation to all who attend.

We would welcome the involvement of individuals, schools, communities and any interested organisations to be with us at the launch. To express your interest in our 150 celebrations and our September 14th launch event go to www.fed.education/contact.
